Marshall, what are you worried about?  There is not enough sun or ozone
in any part of Canada to seriously deteriorate your tires before they
wear out! ;-)

Silicone is what the professional detailers and car dealers use, but it
just gives the tires a shiny look for about a week, just long enough to
sell the car.  Silicone is inert and won't hurt the rubber, but maybe
the solvent it is in will!
