Call a couple of VW junkyards and ask them what they would pay you for it. Here is a big one: http://campbellnelsonvw.com, they might bid on it even if it is in the SE. Try your local yards too. Are you trying to buy it back from the insurance company? If so, the auction price should have nothing to do with that, they should give you a price based on a percentage of a value determined by a survey of recent sales of similar, but intact, vehicles.

BTW, what is a "hold and bid?"
