Subject: '87 Jetta: No Vanagon Content
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

Hi Folks-- Sorry to digress, but I'm not aware of a Jetta group and you all the the most trustworthy auto-minded people I know. At least virtually. My problem seems simple enough, but I can't figure it out -- even looking at a Jetta repair book. A couple of the light bulbs behind my dash have finally passed on and it has gotten hard even to see my speedometer (until I get to 60 or so, that is) after dark. The light in my radio is also a goner, too. The dealer said it would cost $125 to replace the bulbs. I've tried a couple time using basic logic to get behind the dash to change them and haven't found an easy way. Reaching under the dash is not the answer. Any one know how to get to the light bulbs back there? Sure appreciate some advice.

Many thanks-- Don Oldenburg McLean, Virginia
