I'm sure it COULD be done, but I don't know why you would. The pipes are

quite curvy and were difficult to get out. I'm not even sure how the new ones (WV OE that is) would be installed. You'd have to drop the gas tank in any event. This really isn't that big of a job, just unbolt the brackets and

SLOWLY lower the tank whilst having a friend disconnect the tubes on top of the tank.

The red hose is so cheap and easy, I'd do the job two or even three times with the hose before I'd mess with fabricating plastic or copper tubing. Also, I'm not sure where you'd get a plastic capable of holding the heat.
