David, you should have pulled the motor in the first place. Makes the whole job a lot easier. You will be much better off to pull the motor now and do it right. You will need to use a spring compressor to get the cylinders back on. The best way to compress the rings is to use a large diameter hose clamp which you will find at your local FLAPS. Change the O-rings on the bases of your cylinders. This is one of the reasons I recommend pulling the engine and removing the cylinders anyways. I always do it this way. Even if the cylinders do not come off with the heads, once the tension on the cylinders has been released by undoing the head bolts these O-rings may not seal again. Therefore the need to replace them. I think I just wrote about this yesterday .....check the archives. And, good luck !
