not trying to apply generalities, i just know what vw offered for sale.. and no 90 westy weekenders were sold.. maybe it was re-titled as a '90? or a home custom job? thats entirely possible. as far as the one w/ the bordello red interior, that is simple.. the shreddy tan corduroy was replaced.. over 10 years and 15+ vw vans, ya kinda get to know stupid trivia like this :<)

Once again, I don't debate what VW said they sold. Maybe these were special orders, or maybe the VW assembly line workers got bored as crap and created one offs. I have no idea how they came about, but I feel compelled, like a third grader in a pissing contest, to reiterate that that there exists some beast commonly referred to as a weekender, and that at least one is a 1990 syncro that is not a custom job. And of course I know that the one in Boone has a custom interior, even an idiot like me can figure that one out. But it's still a 1987 Westy Wolfsburg, with a poptop. (Notably I'm not calling it a weekender...)
