Listees and Listors, One and All:

I once heard an old Sicilian say,"There is nothing wrong with a dictator ... as long as he is a good dictator." My nonconforming, land-of-the-free-home-of-the-brave, hamburger-eating soul bristled at the very thought. Now, seeing the absence of a definitive outcome after much time and effort was expended on the matter of stickers, I can understand his sentiments.

Should you feel a compelling need to be identified by the other participants of this list, simply affix a bright orange, equilateral triangle measuring 4 inches (make it 4 1/2 inches if you're feeling frisky) on the edge to the top center of your windshield. It will be visible to others under most conditions. Be creative with your selection of materials; just make sure it is a bright orange like a '68 Camaro Z-28, a '75 Volvo 240, a Popsicle or a Great White Hunter's hat. Although a little tacky, fluorescent orange might even be better.

Soft, flexible virgin vinyl of the type used for Coloforms may be ideal. If you do not know what Coloforms are, either do a search or have some kids. This unbacked, sheet vinyl can be applied to glass with no adhesive and can be removed at anytime. I have no idea if it is UV resistant or how long it will stay attached but, since it is so easy to apply and remove, who cares?

So, One and All, if I see orange triangles popping up on Vanagons, I'll know my idea took root. Oh, one more thing. Anyone selling orange triangles for Vanagons will owe me 50% of the take. Rich
