        I have two suggestions that you did not mention. It is remotely
possible that the idiot buzzer came to life. I believe the purpose is to
remind you that the keys are still in the ignition when you open the door
or maybe you haven't buckled up.
        This happened to my 86, all of a sudden it started working after
seven years.
        The other item that buzzes is the low oil pressure warning
system. This occurs over 2000 RPM and is accompanied with a blinking LED.
Is your LED working?
