I have an '85 vanagon syncro that I just put a used engine in and I have a very annoying dead spot in the excelerator. The rpm also surges at a high idle. This problem is not there when engine is cold, but as soon as it warms up it is evident. I've had this on a couple other vans, not as bad, and automatic trans. so it wasn't as big a deal but this feels like it is going to rip the engine out of the mounts! Anyone out there know what causes this, or better what cures this condition? -- CHRISTIAN WORKSHOP 405 WEST Dr. MELBOURNE, FLORIDA 32904 tim@caseworksoft.com PH.
