iATN Help: send blank email to: help@i-atn.com Upgrade: http://members.iatn.net/enhanced.html Archives: http://members.iatn.net/sponsorsindex.html Post Message: http://members.iatn.net/email/ _______________________________________________________ 1989 Volkswagen Vanagon, Qua 2.1 L Trans: Standard Mileage: 142,000 miles VIN: WV2ZB0250KG00327 Fuel: EFI Ignition: ELECTRONIC Emissions: Federal Misc Data: Quatro, 4 WD, federal Symptoms: Excessive Emissions, Poor Idle Quality, Cuts out, Stall Occurs: On Decel, Cruise, Idle, Intermittently ____________________________________________________________ Hello all Boy i got a good one here, this VW Van is in town for a vacation, the engine will quit, some time run rich beford it quit and sometime not,if you try to start it the fuel pump will not come on, but sometime the fuel pump relay will buzz and when it quit and click the fuel pump will come on and it will start, but will quit any time, at one time they was no fire out of the secondary at the coil and also no fuel pump, the costumer replace the fuel pump relay, but the same problem, the wiring harness is being modified at the air flow meter, with the VW modification wish i diconnect and buy pass to try, no help, when i didn't have fire at the coil, we don't know if we had 12 volt at terminal 15, the van start right up and didn't do it again. i have diconnect the frecancy valve but the same thing happen, i had the engine idle set a little high to make up to for it but no change, the engine load up sometime and the RPM will got up and down, i have check all the ground that i know or can find, today my Tech and the costumer seem to hear like a spark noise or a rapid clicking coming from the computer but i can not hear it even with a statescope,but i can hear a engine miss a mile away, they say that it go up and down with RPM, this Van is being to many shop and the Man need to go Home,the O2 sensor was replace a year ago, i Have check all the basic, connector to air flow and Temp sensor, ground Any help on that one will be appriciate and i will post a fix, the last one that i had that was close to that one was a bad ground, but i have check them and the buzzy fuel pump relay really get me, the costumer say that all he have to do sometime is touch anything in the engine compartment and the bussy will stop and it will start Thank you in advance all Chris.....,
