I had been feeling some minor loss of compression for a couple of weeks before it happened, but I was hoping to make it to inspection (April) before I had to deal with the problem. At the very least, you'd think the guys who did the heater core bypass could have alerted me to the problem. Oh, and when I picked it up, I found that the oil was 3 quarts down - so, in hindsight - I think it may have been a pre-existing problem that was aggravated by the overheating....? |
