Subject:      Motor swaps
Content-Type: multipart/alternative;

Our 85 is coming up on 150k with original heads, we want to consider swapping out for different engine before we start travelling next year:

Has anyone moved from a 1.9 to a 2.1? Noticeable power gain? Has anyone used an aftermarket exhaust with success?

How about the four cylinder swap from another VW? I know it's a minimum 4000 CDN (because my neighbors will picket if I try to do it in my driveway!).

Lastly I'd love a short shift kit for the shift lever?

Help on any above appreciated!

Richard
