Sorry, no help on the transmission, but I am in the healthcare field and we
do have occasion to remove adhesive.

The product is called adhesive-tape remover (big surprise).  In the medical
field, it comes in various names... can't think of 'em all off-hand right
now.  We have individual pads, like little alcohol pads, called "Alka-care
Adhesive Tape Remover" or something like that.  I could send you a few via
snail-mail for a sample.  I do recall a product in a larger pint-sized
bottle... might be found at your local pharmacy or medical supply house.
And finally, a product called "un-du" which is not a medical product, but
don't remember where I found it.
