Very simple.. Take the Vanagon to your PPG auto paint dealer. They will come out with a handheld scanner gizmo and match your paint. They then go inside and mix the formula for you. Neat as a cat's a#$. It matches that sun faded paint to a tee. Have a nice clean spot for them to scan.

I need touch-up paint for my brown 86 Vanagon. I searched the Bus Depot site and found 3 different brown paints. I emailed and they said there isn't a way to determine what paint is correct. Someone else told me there is a paint ID number on the van somewhere. I looked in the drivers side door frame, but nothing there seemed to indicate.

How does one find the right paint?

Thanks,

Doug Demarest Minneapolis, MN
