A final note on the recent repair to my 85 Vanagon GL.  The last test to
see if everything was fixed by replacing the fuel pressure regulator was
a nice trip in the pouring rain.  Beforel the repair was done, in the
rain it did nothing but buck, surge, cut out, flood out, run real rough
and used twice as much gas as usual.  Today it rained and rained all
day.  This is normally the kind of day i couldnt trust it.   I would
park it and drive the old green bomb back-up vehicle.  But today i had
to test it...and it ran beautiful! ...not a single probleml.  No other
changes were made in the meantime (I like to pinpoint just what was done
to fix a particular problem).

For all of the comments and questions I've seen on the list about
bucking and surging problems...and all the aggravation i went through,
my advice would be to check this, if not simply replace it if you have
these running symptoms.

Now, a completely off-topic question.  Would someone please tell me what
the reserve tanks inside both the front wheelwells hold?
