Garrett, About 10 years ago my clock quit and I was able to fix it. These clocks are part electronic and part mechanical. An electronic timing circuit discharges a capacitor into a coil on a regular basis. The pulsing magnetism from the coil moves the mechanical part of the clock. When mine failed, I still observed a twitching on the second hand and thus I expected to find a partially stripped gear. What I did fine was that the capacitor that discharges into the coil was bad. I replaced it and the clock has run just fine since. Mike '84 GL '60 Vespa '58 Isetta --- Phoenix Arizona |
