I'm installing a single-person middle seat in my '88 Westfalia. It's the one VW made, and it's designed to fit into tracks on the floor. But, my van doesn't have the tracks, and I don't really want to route the floor out to install them. Instead, an RV place is going to help me mount it with removable bolts that go through the floor. I'm currently deciding exactly where to put it, and I was wondering: on Westfalia's that DO have the tracks, how far is the back of the rear track from the facing of the base of the rear seat? Or, on any Vanagon, how far is the front of the front track from the back of the base of the front seat? Could someone measure and P-mail me? Sure, I could just eye it and pick a spot that looked good, but first I'd rather at least hear the wisdom of those German engineers... -Steven Sittser |
