The "indicator" is a white LED with a blue cover over the top of it. Basically the 12V from the highbeam goes to a resistor and then to the LED and then to ground. These are all on a plastic flim that is on the back of the instrument cluster. Sometime condensation makes some corrosion and the connection is intermittened... wiggle the LED and the resistors and this will give you a rust free connection for a while. If the LED is dead, it has to be reaplaced, they are either working or dead. Radio Shack has LEDs in all sorts of colours. I get mine from dead computers. Hope this helps!
