Tim, I've been using metallic pads on OEM rotors since my second set of pads. It's not a matter of the pads damaging the rotors, but that the rotors will wear out more quickly. I've gotten around 150,000 miles per set of rotors, and noticeably better braking on long downhill runs. When the metallics get hotter, they perform better, instead of the other way around with organics.
