I hate to be insistent about this -- but it is *not* an LED, it is a light bulb. There are some Vanagons with green high-beam indicators which are LEDs, but no blue ones. The blue LED did not exist at the time. Your replacement came with a blue cover because it was a white light bulb (note -- white LEDs did not exist then either). If you plug an LED into the socket without changing the series resistor it will probably smoke (although a blue one might not, they run on a much higher voltage than red/yellow/green LEDs. You'd have to work the numbers to see, though. As before, if anyone needs the formula to figure out LED series resistors just pmail me.

Incidentally, a little fairy told me that the p/n for the bulb with cover is 357 919 062 The blue cover alone is apparently 251 919 068. david
