There is no Haynes manual that specifically covers the Vanagon diesel. You'd be best off if you buy the manual for the 80-83 aircooled, and a Golf I (Rabbit) diesel manual. There are different manuals for the Euro and US models, the Euro covers the carbs as well as (or instead of) the FI system

You can always check for yourself: http://www.haynes.com They list all books available there.
