Mr. Sawyer --

I appreciate you posting back to the list so I can reply in public. I sent the list mail requesting a Bentley for an '85- diesel, since I needed a manual for my 1.6L TD from an '85 Quantum.

I received an email from you with the following header:

Date: Fri, 04 Jun 1999 23:45:46 -0400 From: Horace K. Sawyer <firestream@mindspring.com> To: Gary Shea <shea@GTSDESIGN.COM> Subject: Re: WTB: '85-? Bentley for diesel Jetta/Quantum/Golf etc.

Pretty obvious what I wanted. You were asking $25 for this manual, plus $10 shipping. I accidentally sent you a check for $40 (since I had just checked Amazon and found that the exact same manual was $40 there). You did indeed send me two manuals, a Bentley for Rabbit/Jetta 1977-1984 (which I already had a copy of) and a Haynes for diesel Rabbit 1977-1984. Not what I wanted but an understandable mistake.

The only reason I would bother to bring this up in a public forum is that when I sent you (at least two) emails explaining that these were not the manuals I wanted and that I wanted to send them back to you and undo the deal, you did not reply to my mail. I expect better than that from list folks.

From my perspective this is "just the facts, Ma'am".

Huh?
