I looked into this when I upgraded to the captain's style seats and really could not see an easy way to do this. The mechanism is a meshing of gear teeth through a small arc, and the end of the range of recline is where the teeth end. I could see no way to increase the recline without completely reconstructing the entire mechanism. To do this would require fabrication of parts and welding, which would further necessitate complete disassembly of the seat, more trouble than I wanted to go to.

I guess it is a safety feature, you will have to move to the bed for your reclining!
