The Michelin MXT's are still out there.  I have them on two vans and like
them very much.  They are not however rated M & S and in my experience
are probably not the best choice for Winter conditions.  I have not
really had any worries in the snow with the Syncro but that 4wd makes up
for the lack of bite.  I have never tried my 2wd Westy in the snow so I
can't say how they would work on your van.   In dry and wet conditions
the MXT is a superb performer on the Vanagon.
