There is no answer to that, it probably has more to do with the number of times it has been shifted between 3rd & 4th. The selector hub cracks eventually, and this part has been upgraded so it should last longer after replacement. In my tranny the pinion bearing got noisy at 105,000 and I had the unit rebuilt by AA Transaxle before it took out the ring and pinion. My hub was fine but replaced with the new one as a routine part of the rebuild. Others have had that hub go out at 100,000 miles, and some much more.
