Garret, fellows and fellaws: I am experimenting the same thing on mine. The only additional thing that have happened on mine is that I was founding small pieces of black plastic on the front rug and finally down came a small screw with its socket. When I took off the instrument panel from the dash, the back of the clock is disintegrating just as my rearview mirror had. I am waiting for a luck rush so I can buy a new instrument panel with tach. to adapt. Westfalia '84
