Subject: List Sticker and VWoA Lawsuits?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

On the air-cooled news group, there are threads about VWoA threatening legal action against ANY site that uses ANY word that VWoA trademarks.

<<<It seems VWoA is at it again. Our Website...received one of VW's lawyer's form letters claiming we were infringing upon their trademark by: 1) Having the word 'Bug' in our title 2) Using the words Volkswagen, VW, Beetle, and Bug within our site 3) Using their logo within our site and our Yellow Pages ad here in>>>>

Add just about any word describing a VW model that they sell.

Has there been any consideration to the use of VW "owned" words on the sticker to avoid lawsuits threats.

I could just see VWoA taking all the list members that have a sticker to court because of "trademark infringement."

There needs to be the legal statement, in fine print, at the bottom of the sticker stating: " disclaimer on our site that states that we are not VW, associated with VW, etc.."

Robert
