This is a good point.

My '84 is a California car and has the honeycomb, but the cat that came with the 2.1 engine I am installing is empty (originally from his '85)! It was from a Washington Vanagon, the PO had never replaced it and it always passed the emissions test here.

So now I have another choice to make. Rob, which do you prefer-the noise + horsepower, or the quieter cat?
