Hi Tim & list,

I've read about these rebuilt rear axle/CV joint bargains and I don't
understand the value. Are these new CV joints on an axle or cleaned &
repacked used CV joints for $100.00? The only CV joints that I would
reuse are my own by repacking before they knock. I believe rear CV
joints are $100 a pair new and it's not that hard to put them on the
shaft.

I am just finishing a Syncro FRONT axle hubcap to hubcap overhaul of
brakes, wheel bearings and all CV joints. If anyone needs advice on this
job, e-mail me. I could never trust this type of work to a mechanic due
to the usual rusted & frozen parts(140,000 miles). The commercial garage
is interested in selling time and they tend to be brutal when parts
don't come right off and cause more damage.
