Volks, At the PA Vanagon breakfast last weekend, I ended up staying around for lunch (he bought...thanks) with one fellow from New York City who had driven down in his '85 Westy. We popped engine hatches to check stuff out here and there, of course. Anyway, this 1.9 didn't have throttle switches. Now, I'm used to the buried system under the throttle on the 2.1, but I'm pretty sure (and we confirmed in Bentley) that the 1.9 has two switches (one for idle and one for WOT), but this van had neither. It seemed to purr just fine at idle and generally had a good sound for a WBX with over 150K. Anyone know if the 1.9 ever came without throttle switches? -Karl Karl and Kristina Bloss, Trexlertown, PA '87 Westfalia Weekender "Beverley" - 195K miles http://www.enter.net/~bloss/vw/ PA/NJ Vanagon owner's mailing list: http://www.enter.net/~bloss/vw/pavanagon/ |
