These radiators tend to fail with age. VW's crimped aluminum and plastic construction.... I've replaced the radiator on my '90, as well as my old '82 Rabbit Pick-up. My best advice, BUY A NEW ONE! If you put in a used one, and it fails, its going to be a lot more expensive to fix the now overheated engine. I purchased the $179 South African one from TBD.
