Subject: Overheating Sort of?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

Hey there. I've been away awhile, at least long enough to neglect the van and the dreaded complete water drain and overheating incident. I finally was able to install the evil water distribution Tee along with a few new hoses on the 2.1 motor. Everything seems to run fine or about the same, a relief, but not completely out of the dark as the motor is running much hotter than normal if the water temp guage is correct. Previously the water temp guage ran around the middle of the scale as a sort of "average" operating temp. It now reads about 3/4's towards the top of the scale just before the fan kicks in. I'm wondering if the original emptying of the collant and overheat, either damaged the water temp sensor or may have weakened or damaged the water pump? It doesn't seem to be using extra coolant, nor are there any coolant leaks. Could there be something damaged in the heads as well? Any advice on similar experiences would be helpful as the list is always.

Yours,

Andrew Dunn 89 GL
