In my continuing effort to identify an orphan wire on my 86 Syncro, I have
narrowed my search to to the differential lock switch.  Since my van came
originally with a diff lock, but has since had the tranny rebuilt without
the diff lock, I can't tell if the orphan wire was originally connected to
the diff lock.

The wire is actually two wires in a black sleeve that end in a female
connector.  One wire is brown, the other is brown with a blue stripe on each
side.  The wire emerges from the main wiring harness near the accelerator
cable at the front of the engine compartment.  It is about 2 feet long,
which is long enough to reach the diff lock.

Can anyone with a Syncro please check that wire, or anything else that seems
likely, and let me know if my hunch is correct.

Alternately, could I just jump the two wires together and see if the
indicator light on the dash panel lights up?  (That would be the easy way,
wouldn't it?)
