I don't like this job either. The last time I did it I used a mechanic friend's solvent tank to clean everything up. I was going to use the Redline grease but he happened to have some remnants of Amsoil, Swepco, Wurth, and StaLube moly grease laying around so I decided to experiment by applying different greases to some clean ball bearings and cv races to see how it would pack. If an affinity to stick to metal surfaces is any measure of a grease's effectiveness then I would rate the Wurth and Swepco a 10 and a 9 with the Amsoil and Redline equal at about a 7. I ended up packing my 2 new joints with the Redline and the good used ones with Swepco. It was really noticeable how much better the Swepco grease packed the joints. Just my .02 observation.
