Does this wire end in the engine compartment, or can you see/reach it from inside the rear driver's side wheel well?

If it is in the wheel well, near the vacuum reservoir, I have the same wire - it is intended for the (non-existent) center locking mechanism that was available on some Syncros (in lieu of a VC)
