Steve -

It's really good to see that Plat Cat is still around, and in Spokane!

I've been looking at heaters for the Westy for awhile. The biggest problem I think is where to put one. Putting one under the rear seat sacrifices a big chunk of storage pace. Putting one like the Plat Cat on the wall of the closet solves that problem, but it looks like it is too close to people sleeping on the bed. If you happened to sit up without thinking, you could burn yourself.

If someone could build a Plat Cat style heater that was the right size and shape to fit on the back of the passenger side seat base, that would be good. It would have to be short enough to allow the seat to turn over it.

An even better arrangement might be something like the Carver designed to fit on the floor between the driver and passenger seats, pointing backwards. If it were properly designed, it would be strong enough to support someone stepping on it, and not so tall as to make it harder to get from the front to the back.

Of course if we are dreaming, it would have to be inexpensive!

Did Arnie ever get back to you about custom sizes for the Westy?

Don't write off the plat cat heaters yet! See the message below from Arnie, who worked at Thermal Systems before they were bought out, and who now has his own heater business, including Plat Cats. <Rest of message snipped>
