Thanks to all who have sent replies about installing the master cylinder.
And about installing the slave too - well, I should have listened to all of
you last year when the slave went and you told me to replace the master too!
So, I already have a new slave and I didn't really drive on it much before
the master went, so I think it will be alright. I bought the master cylinder
from busdepot.com (great prices!!) and will be installing it as soon as it
stops raining. I wish I had a garage! And I can't wait to drive my vanagon
again. It has been 6 months!!!
