I heard about "Valley West Auto" in Summerland B.C. from Bow-Wow auto parts in Kelowna. I have never seen his yard, but supposedly has a bunch of wrecked Vanagon's. I had my transmission sent to "Klaus" to re-build, I originally called looking for a wrecker tranny, and he offered to fix, so I sent it to him. He had the transmission shipped back to me in a couple days, and so far so good,(can't recall how much now, but it was very reasonable, compared to alternatives 900$ can(?)). Approx. 20k miles later, so far so good. But like I said, I have never seen the place, it could be a vw supermarket, or someone's cluttered back yard. Who knows. Give'm a shout (250) 494-0010 or 1-800-644-5441.

Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone in Canada has a pre-86 Vanagon they are parting? I would like to get ahold of the headlight buckets (and maybe the grill) without spending too much money. I want to convert my square headlight-ed 86 to rounds so I can put E1 spec lights in without breaking the bank. Wrecking yards around here just guffaw when I ask if they have a Vanagon. There is one local shop that said they could get their hands on them, but they're kind of crooked, and I'd rather not give them my money.

I don't want to spend too much because I may decide I don't like it and switch back!

Thanks, Keith Adams Calgary, Alberta, Canada 1986 Vanagon GL Westfalia
