I have seen good gray water tanks for sale from places like Steve Lashey's
site http://EuroCampers.com but they still only hold about 5 gallons and we
are carrying the smallest (glue) gray water tank available with us now which
is also 5 gallons and is really too small to be practical.  If you are
staying a full weekend in a campground and use your sink a lot you will have
to empty this at least once if not more.  There is a large hollow space
under the sliding door behind the passenger seat which corresponds with the
bay the propane take is in on the driver's side and there are large tanks in
all configurations available from RV dealers that will fit in this space.
The only problem I can foresee is that the waste water will have to travel
down the drain tube and across, underneath the van and up again to get into
the tank on the other side.  Will the water fill the tank or will it take a
transfer pump to pump it into the tank? The tank would be lower than the
sink so that part would be ok although there would always be standing water
in the line but would it force it's way UP into the tank?  Not being a
hydro-engineer I can't figure out if this would work or not.

Some of the tanks I have seen hold as much as 15-22 gallons and of course
you wouldn't want to go driving around with all that waste water but it's
real easy to dump it on your way out of the campground, just like the "big
guys" do.

Any thoughts?
