Hi,  all.  First, the list is great! As a new member,  it has given me a wealth of information on Vanagons that I am sure I will need in the future. Perhaps a little too much complaining about peoples spelling and alleged Sycro owners egos, i.e., April fool's day, clogging my in-box. Enough of that.


The lower bearing on my sliding door in shot.  Is this a common failure and am I safe to get a used one that seems to be in good shape?  How much is a new one though a list source?  The VW part # is 251 843 419 for just the bearing and 251 843 406A for the kit. VW wanted $42.32 and $124.79, respectively.
