I use a standard heavy duty outdoor power cord like are used on construction sites (You can find them at any building supply store). I got one made by a company called Yellow Jacket that has the end that you would plug into your Westy light up when the other end of the cord is plugged into an outlet with power. This is handy for three reasons: 1) you know immediately if the outlet you plugged into has power (Sometimes at RV sites they do not until you switch on the circuit breaker on the panel) 2) It lights up enough (after you plug into a live receptacle of course) to plug it into your Westy with out the aid of a flash light (there is usually enough auxiliary light at the electrical box to plug the cord into the live outlet without a flash light) 3) If you drop the end of the cord in the dark you know immediately where it is to pick it up with out a flash light.

This is my recommendation,

I recently purchased a westy that is missing the power cord. What gauge cord do I need to buy or does it matter?
