Volks -

Last week several of you were kind enough to make suggestions when I started asking questions about troubleshooting a headlight, fan and wiper problem on my '87 Westy.

To make a long story short, it was the ignition switch.

We thought it tested OK, and were playing with the load reduction relay and the dimmer switch, but - it was the ignition switch all along.

I guess the moral of the story is, when there's a funny electrical problem, put in a new ignition switch and see what happens, before spending money on other parts!

By the way, the list vendor prices of $9-$10 are a good deal. VW retail is $37, and Camelback's internet discount price is $25.

Thanks much for the good advice! Wish I had taken it earlier.
