Have you actually measured 13 gallons?... I measured about 10 filled to the top....

Also, make youself a filler nozel and you will never want to fill through the top again... takes about two minutes to fill the tank... all the way to the top and no spilling...

Just go the hard ware store and get a 10 inch piece of tubing that will fit through the rubber baffle at the filler tube... then select a combinating of fittings to reduce from 3/4" hose to the tubing that you bought. That's it... getting the water to enter past the rubber baffle makes all the difference... you can add an on off valve if you like for added convenience.
