Marshall Ruskin Huge interest in your reply as I to have seam rust. I also plan to get the old beast painted and something at the end of your post caught my eye: "I am going to have rockGuard sprayed on the lower body sections, and the wheelwells - but I haven't done that yet - so I can't talk about it from personal experience." That reminded me that there is this "Super Scotch Tape" on the front edge of the rear wheel wells and that it has become so discolored over the years as to ruin the looks of any paint job whatever the cost. This tape MUST come off so that area too can be painted but that leaves a couple of questions. 1. The adhesive used for the tape has effectively "welded" the tape on there; it will not come off without a fight. How do you get the %&$*# stuff off? 2. I do not recall ever seeing anything like this stuff at the FLAPS. What is a sutible replacement? Would the "Rockguard" mentioned above do it? |
