Sounds like there is someone out there with a totally irrational hatred of Japanese cars. Some of the very best best cars come from Japan (Toyota Celsior, also sold as Lexus LS400 etc). And I hate to say it, but I'd have a Subaru Legacy or Toyota Corona before I'd ever consider a VW or Audi car. Hey, if it's reliable and delivers, who cares where it's from? VW has put out some horrible engines; why not replace one of these with a great one? Of course, Subaru engines are ridiculously expensive in USA. Here EJ20 turbos go for $750US; SVX $1250. In Japan I could have had a low-km 290hp WRX Type RA EJ20 turbo for $1700 landed in NZ. Wiring? This is complex if you use the Subaru computer, but not so if you use an aftermarket computer, as I will be doing. Of course I don't have to mess around with smog gear, and mine will be nice and "dirty", and have a bit more power than the factory EG33 (SVX engine). If I ever can afford to actually get it on the road...Anyway, KEP has the info on EJ20/22/25 wiring, and is working on the EG33 at the moment.
