Ron, It's not a good idea to just connect the two hoses as this will bypass the radiator and route hot coolant back to the engine. The heater you pulled out has a flow restrictor to limit the flow through the heater when the valve is opened. When the valve is closed of course, no coolant flows through this circuit at all. I would recommend plugging the two hoses instead of connecting them. Perhaps you can plug them in the engine compartment and get rid of the hoses under the rear seat. Mark McCulley
