Sounds like a coolant hose blew. This happens in life and that is what the blinking lights are for (they are not there so you can pretend they don't exsist). As for all of the other stuff, this what happens when coolant lines blow and you keep driving the van. Pretty much the entire engine becomes toast (I have one sitting here which will attest to this). To me, they bought the van, they are the ones that ignored the warning lights, etc, it is their problem. Hey, I know that sounds harsh, but is it fair for you to pay for someone else's stupidity? BTDT and it really doesn't pay to help them. This is one of lifes great lessons that they had better learn now. Later it will be more expensive. Change your coolant hoses!!!!

PS. In spite of my rant I would probably wind up helping these girls out in this situation anyway just because I am a soft hearted (headed) goof ball :) But my point is that you are not obligated to do so.
