Tacky.  YMMV of course.  Some dealers around here have a cutout silhouette
of their logo that they stick in the light, always annoys me.  Aside from
the tacky factor, I think anything that gives any possible confusion to the
function of the third light is a poor idea.

Of course I'm speaking from rockbound (hidebound?) New England, and I'm an
old stick-in-the-mud anyway -- but I would associate monogrammed brake
lights with air fresheners that look like crowns, neon-lit license plates
and similar stuff -- which should let you gauge my idea of tacky.
