Subject: LED lights revisited.

It was pointed out to me that the LED lights I was talking about no longer appear on the www.realgoods.com page. Looking around I found them at a different website and their price is a bit cheaper for the same lights.

http://www.theledlight.com

From their front page go to LED Fixtures to see the ones I got. Or click on:

http://www.theledlight.com/led-fixtures.html

to go their directly.

The fixtures I bought are the Goose neck 3 LED cabin light for my passenger seat reading light and two Comet 3 LED fixtures for over the stove and sink. I had to file down the mounting flange some to get the Comets to fit between the curtain track and the outer edge of the "tray" over the galley.

I don't know if everyone would really be happy with them. They are basically bullet proof, use very little energy but they produce a very white light. Almost fluorescent like and do not have as "warm" a feeling as a regular incandescent light. The light they produce is more like a full moon on a snow field in winter. Rather strange in a way. And they are very directional and do not light up the whole area; only what they are aimed at. But, I figure a few candles can always enhance the ambiance!! (Ambiance is very important out here in Californie ;-)

If you want me to e-mail you an image of the Comet LED's over the galley in my Vanagon - let me know and I will.
