I agree, too. I mean c'mon, they're all idiots. (not other list members, you know, "them", as in the VanPattons and the like.) Didn't you get the memo? ; )

I'm in New York with my Westy and people say with a kind of puzzled look, "So you go where there's no electricity... and sleep in the car?"

Anyway, about the third brake lite. The DPO of my bus mounted a third brake light on the shelf above the space when the rear hatch is open. Now this is only on Westies. On my bus the air conditioner is right in front of this small shelf-- you might use yours to hold the rear hatch screen. But the third light is mounted on the top of the shelf as far to the back (toward the back of the bus that is)as is possible. That way the light doesn't hit the curtain when closed. You don't have to run wires into the hatch door either. (and you can still use the shelf)

The light doesn't touch the glass, but the little bit of reflection off the rear glass doesn't bother the driver at all as it's blocked by the a/c unit. Just a very faded red light can be seen in the rear view which lets me know it's working. And it's real apparent from behind the bus. I highly recommend a third light no matter how you mount it, or even if it's one that says "BEER" or whatever. Save the back end of your bus.
